I believe there are various philosophies, some are better than others, some depend on peoples personalities to be successful, there are many right ways/answers in my opinion.

      This works best for me:
Track everything, mostly macros and routines for the BBer, like myself. PR and weight lifted during WO's is for strength and power/weight lifters, so they should track that info first and foremost. It takes the guess work out and implies more of a scientific approach. Having data/notes to refer to is priceless for me and has always produced the absolute best gains in the shortest amount of time for me.
To keep real gains, you have to understand why, then how/what you did to attain them. For instance, what I did to attain them on gear, I will have to continue that to sustain them off gear, but you will always lose some through PCT and even some during cruise if your a lifer who uses HRT, blasts and cruises, like me. I am not considering water weight as a real gain, water fluctuates daily.
I cruise @ 100mgs twice per week for as long as I want to stay off, I get labs prior to start g anew blast. I lose very little, I prefer putting on lbm with clean bulking, never really putting on a lot of extra weight. Slow steady gains re my preferred method of putting on muscle.

After many years of doing this and trying many different ways, one thing I'm certain of... I'm still learning new ways and improving on ones that I've used successfully in the past.

      Fun Facts:
There is no such thing as cleaning/clearing receptor sites from AAS cycles, once the hormones get inside the cell, they bind/activate the hormone receptor. The more muscle you gain, the more TEST/hormones (needed) that are binding/activating the receptors once inside the cell. This is why we require higher dosages of TEST/hormones as we grow. However, this does not mean the more we take the bigger we get... Homeostasis is one culprit among others that slow growth from the first cycle. There are many variables and factors that have to be manipulated to continue considerable growth that is comparable to when you first popped your anabolic cherry. Anyway, I don't want get too far off track here...

Starting at low doses of AAS cycles is one of the smartest thing a rookie or even veteran can do for every cycle he does, imo. You can always add more later if needed.
Muscle building is a process that takes time, shooting more steroids doesn't do anything but waste them and wreak havoc on your body over time, muscle memory is your best friend and is very real!
I have heard of clenbuterol receptors being cycled for "cleaning out". But personally I have never used it, so I don't know for sure how that works...

Hat about intensity during a workout? If your body is catabolic do you really want hypertrophy? I would like to see an article on this.
