      Too lean wtf?

OK, I have been getting these sharp kidney pains for about a year. I mostly happens when I'm stressed, or first thing in the morning. I ignored it for a few months (thought it Wa a kidney stone, as ive had them in the past)
Finally I gave in a several months ago, and had it checked out. Turned out I didn't have a stone. So I went to the urologist, and he said I needed to put on some fat, how your kidneys need fat to fun tion correctly yadayada.
The thing is im NOT as lean as I was 2 years ago, and prior.....
I did just turn 42, so with age does it become a problem to get real lean? Has anyone experienced kidney pain at about 5-6% BF??? I dont work out to compete. Basically just for vanity porposes. I am not always the biggest guy say at the beach or pool, but i like being the biggest guy who is lean, especially at my age. I put on about 5 lbs of fat, and the pain is gone, i do still have abs and all, but i guess the days of having vains running across my abs and chest are over.
Getting old SUCKS. For you younger guys......live it up!!!!!!!

Bro if you are really walking around at 5-6% bf year round hats off to you as that is not an easy accomplishment nor do I think it's very healthy to stay that lean. Put on a couple % bf and you will feel much better and still look great

That is very impressive numbers in regards to body fat %. I consider myself pretty lean and I stay around 10%-12%. That's competitive bodybuilder percentages right there(5-6% being show ready).

Yeah its a great feeling. Especially at my age, and still get hollas from chicks that are young enough. ...well younger I guess im lucky, as its pretty easy for me stay lean year round (although I don't know how many more years I've got left) but thanks for the complement. Thing is once I got to where I wanted to be bf wise, I can eat pretty much whatever, whenever I want, and dont put on fat. After the doc told me I needed more BF, Ive been eating CRAP after workouts.....im putting on weight, but its muscle (so far) I don't suggest this for anyone trying to lean up, but 3x's a week for post workout meals...ill get a small coke (raise insulin) and 3 double cheeseburgers from McDonald's. Ill take all the bread of except a bottom and top.I remember when I fist got below 8%. It was months of eating nothing but a lb of roast beef, and a lb of raw salmon (sushi quality) with a bit of sticky rice. I ate only for protein and nutrition, and looked at food as a necessity and not something to enjoy. Maybe ill go with the medium coke and 4 double burgers. Id like to get up to 8-10%. And you're right. I think id look better with a bit more bf. Fell better as well. Once i got too lean, no matter how much water id drink, id cramp up like crazy. Another thing ive noticed.....i sweat doing nothing if its warm out. I need to slow my matabilisim to a degree.Any suggestions???? W/ out getting over 10%
