      Pinning Quads 101

      Alot of people ask about this so here it is. REPLY "STICKY" IF YOU LIKE THIS. Its best to get under some intense light and look for a spot high up on the front of thequad. The light will help you spot an area with no large visible veins. Make sure your leg is out straight and your foot is heel down toe up. Sit on what ever works heighth wise so that only your ass is on the seat not the back of your quad. And all the weight of your leg is resting on your heel. Make sure all the muscle tension is out of the quad. Totally limp. Now find that sweet spot. When using any oil based compound, put a small droplette on the entry point. This will make the pin slide in and back out MUCH easier.Penetrate slowly so that when the needle breaks the skin it dosent plunge all of a sudden and hit a vein. Now that your through the skin, SLOWLY insert, if you staart to hit a vein, you will feel it, back out alittle, re-angle without exiting the skin, then try again slowly. Once you get it all the way in, plunge slow. Stop after each cc for a few seconds then continue. When you pull out, immediately put a finger on the site, apply pressure and wiggle it back and forth for 10-20 seconds. When you take your finger off you should have a nice dry, bloodless site. Make sure the muscle stays COMPLETELY RELAXED and limp throughout the proceedure. There you have it! Enjoy!

      Nice - will give this a go.

      Do you recommend heating the oil at all? Where I live it gets cold and pinning cold oil is difficult and painful. For this reason I let the barrel sit on the heater for a minute (not too hot - raise the level to just above body temp) and it really seems to help.

      You ever seen this site?

      I don't even bother with quads. Mine are insanely veiny. Half the time I knick or hit a vein. You would think delts would be more difficult, but I don't have as much of a problem. Glutes and delts are my go to, but that is personal preference. I know plenty of guys that stab the hell out of their quads. I have had way too many stiff leg experiences lol. Great info none the less!

      Good post! I like to alternate sites between quads, delts and glutes but quads in my opinion are the easiest to do.

      If your oi is cold its gonna be harder, I would warm it with a hair dryer though. Its a gentler heat and will warm it up more evenly.

      Sounds about right bro. For most people place the edge of your palm of the hand on you hip at side of your leg, Where the tip of your finger end is about the best place in general.

      Of course everyone is different I use my whole quad, including the tear drop and it doesnt bother me unless I nick a nerve,

      Also the first few times you pin quads you will have pain the next few days. Nothing horrible, kinda feels like you did quads at the gym the day before! after 3-4 pins in the same general location you will have zero pain from then on. just keep going in the same spot more or less. I dont even notice it after week 3 anymore.
