Agree with the t4 on gh. IF YOU NEED IT!!!

Gh should upregulate conversion of t4 to t3 (t3 is the active hormone). Which is why bloods tend to come back with low t4 but mid/high t3 on prolonged gh use. T3 to t4 ratio is generally used as 1:4, so 25mcg t3 should = 100mcg of t4 as long as your body converts it properly. T4, however, cant really be overdosed: take 1000mcg of t4, your body is only going to convert what is needed to cap t3 levels, which may be only 75mcg.

Im prescribed t4 due to an autoimmune disorder, and only need 50mcg a day to get stable t4 levels, and thus regular t3.

Key to remember with t4 is that HOW you take it largely determines uptake. Ive found the absolute best way is to take it at night when i wake up to pee. This guarantees that my gut is empty and i get the full absorption of it. T3 you can take with food and it really doesnt matter. T4 must be taken without food.

The reason for taking t4 with gh is that gh upregulates the conversion of t4 to t3.

T4 is produced by the thyroid.
The petitutary produces TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) which converts t4 to t3.
T3 is what the body uses for metabolism.
This is how the body self regulates.

T4 does nothing for us. T3 does. Gh UPCONVERTS t4 to t3. MORE t4 means more converstion to t3. Taking t4 orally does not shut down your thyroid. Taking t3 orally shuts down your thyroid. Taking t4 with gh lets your petitutary and thyroid relax a little and keeps t3 maximal. Taking t3 with gh shuts down thyroid and removes the conversion process completely, which does nothing for us and if you come off gh and/or t3, you have to wait for your thyroid to bounce back. Taking t4 you dont have a bounce back because the thyroid never shuts down.

There have been multiple studies shown that exogenous t3/t4 will not permanently shut down thyroid and most come back fully functioning within two weeks. One study showed a patient on t3 for 30 years who had normal thyroid function in weeks. The thyroid is extremely adaptable and long term thyroid shutdown is a myth and has been proven through many many studies

Right, but there is time shut down.

Lets say youre in an off season running gh and add t3. Eating 5000kcal a day. Then you come off. Thyroid is shut down EVEN MOMENTARILY. You can do a LOT of damage in 2-4w trying to eat anywhere close to your offseason. I know personally when i discovered i had hashimotos before i was prescribed t4. I would look at protein and gain fat while my muscle wasted.
