In your opinion, what's the HARDEST part about being an average Joe bodybuilder?
So we all know professional BBers have it a bit easier than us in some ways. Yes they have to dedicate more time, eat more/better, train more/harder and basically devote their life.
BUT.......it IS their life. Most top level competitors don't work full time jobs and have trainers, doctors, dietitians, etc etc working with them.
So for us guys who work full time, maybe have kids, wives, normal social lives, and other obligations in general.....what is the hardest part about this lifestyle TO YOU?
The grocery bill? The gear/supplement bill? Finding time to eat when working all day? Finding energy to train?
What's YOUR biggest hurdle and how do you overcome it?

The hardest part is taking time away from the family. Especially when your gone most of the time due to work and only having one income. BEyond that everything else is cake.

Lot's of truth there bro. It makes it worse when these family members don't understand nor support your passion.
Not just family....having to explain to people how every meal counts and why you can't skip a meal or a workout. Most don't understand what it takes to get to this level.

Yes. Its always a fight. Especially if they really don't understand and have been misinformed from God knows where .

I definitely agree that trying to find that balance with spreading your time out with the family and being able to eat and take in the amount of food actually needed. My job doesn't really allow me to take time out to grab a quick snack or bite to eat. So I have to fit in the food after work. Makes it a bit tougher.

I can understand where your coming from. When I was able to work long hours it was actually easier . my gym time would often be 4am. After work. So it didn't interfere with my family time. Also I was on a routine. So it was much easier on the body.

Honestly the mental part! Everyday you look at yourself some days your like fuck yea I look good, next day your like fuck I'm fat, (even though your not). It makes you think like fuck man will I ever get to that level? Do I bust my ass hard enough to get to that level? Do I have everything in the right place to get to that level?

Thanks for posting. I always wondered the same thing myself. I work construction building houses. Its almost impossible to eat enough and have energy enough to go to the gym. I admire how the big boys get it done. I wish I had someone to give me a boot in the ass sometimes.

Im in construction too brother. The only way I can stick to my routine is train in the morning before work. Its fukn torture though but im to tired in the arvo and id skip to many sessions. Eating on the run is tough too. Most of my meals I eat while driving or i chip away at them while im working. Being a tradie has to be one of the worst jobs for bodybuilders. Never enough time to eat and your body never gets a decent rest
