Ain't knowledge grand? I'll never go back to low gauge. If some how, like me, you've never tried the switch to a 27g - do yourself a favor and treat yourself to them.

You poor bastard, you been stabbin yourself with them paper clip sized pins haha. I'm just messing with you brother, but for real a couple of the old school vets at my gym were telling me all these stories about "back in the day" when they had to use what was available. I heard a couple 18ga stories haha. Anyways, today we have knowledge and access to everything so no need for that. The bottom line is larger gauge needles are going to cause more scar tissue which if you are committed to this game is a big deal in the long run. The enhanced athlete guy even uses insulin needles:
