Pretty cool story thought I'd share

Back in 1993 I was going to college in Jacksonville Florida(from NJ). Anyway a buddy of mine ran the golds gym up there told me to come down and train. Now you have to remember by this point I was already competing in NPC National contest, won the NJ in 1992 so I wasn't a bad bodybuilder by any means. I walked into this golds and my friend introduced me to a black guy named Dexter. Dude had it, he was training for the Southern States as a middleweight. We talked a bit and ended up training together. Dude was a total freak, round muscle bellies he told me he diets for 3 weeks for a show. At the time he probably weighed 180-185 but looked much bigger. Two weeks later he won the overall at the Southern States(probably biggest show in Florida). I had no doubt in my mind he was going to win and be a pro someday. What I didn't anticipate was a 2008 Mr. Olympia title to go with countless Arnold titles. Yeah, the dude was Dexter Jackson, and what was hilarious is at the time I was ahead of him so the whole workout he bombarded me with questions. If I knew I would have said chill your gonna be Mr. O someday.
I never spoke to him again, saw him at contests but it was a hi and bye thing. The next show he did was the USA he moved up to lightheavy and won the class. But back then they didn't give out pro cards like today. You had to win the overall at the USA to turn pro so Dexter didn't. Next show he did was the nationals which I was at, I have no idea what the judges were looking at but they placed him 8th. Have to hand it to him he didn't give up. He went and did the Northamerican, another show u have to win the overall to turn pro. Definitely, not putting northamerican winners down especially after the career Dexter had but the northamerican has always been know as the easy way to a pro card, the comp isn't anything like the USA or Nationals. He won the overall easy as a lightheavy. He looked OK IMO. HIS LEGS WERE LACKING SWEEP, HIS CHEST WAS FLAT BUT THOSE ROUND MUSCLE BELLIES PLUS LESS COMPETITION ALLOWED HIM TO TURN PRO. HONESTLY, THE WAY HE LOOKED AT THE NA I NEVER THOUGHT He would DO ANYTHING AS A PRO, HE WAS WAY TOO SMALL.
But he did something, I don't know what, between the North American and his pro debut at the Arnold Classic where he placed 7th, I was very surprised but he looked like a different guy. When we trained together that one time he claimed he never tried Gh or insulin. The only thing I can think of is he was telling the truth and when he turned pro he went ape shit with the slin and gh.
Ok stick with me here Dexter went to the show pros go to die(the Northamerican, there has never been another successful bb that won that show except Lynda Murray of course Lynda won several Ms. O's Dexter won one) . I have some pics from the 1998 north American and the1999 Arnold the difference is astounding. First one is dexter doing back lat spread at the Arnold with his trademark glutes. The second one is Dexter a year earlier at the North American, huge difference. Next 1998 NA, then 1999 Arnold. This is only a span of around 8 months. Now look at that last one from the Arnold, he never had traps like that, let alone the size in the legs and arms to go with it.
Anyway, that's my story, what do u think, Dexter obviously added some drugs between the two show, was it insulin, gh, or maybe igf-1.
Let me get this clear though I'm not putting down Dexter, he was the nicest dude you could meet, smile lit up a room. He's definitely one of the good guys too bad he can't go on forever.
One more thing I still don't think Dexter is the best small bodybuilder ever, even though he has a Mr o title , I don't think he could hold a candle to Shawn Ray at his best.

Amazing that I met him at 180 in 93 Nd now he's what 240 5'6"

I know Dexter has 5% geneticz but he didn't quit if youre young and this is a Dream of yours go for it. Just have a backup plan in place, because sadly not many bodybuilders can survive on what they make. And if you not a pro get ready for the gay for pay offers, I had plenty, could do it.
