What are the potential risks of getting gear online? Worst case scenario in terms of the law and getting bad unsterile gear, etc

Worst case...
You get bad gear, it causes an infection and you lose your arm. The cops find out about it at while you are getting your arm amputated at the hospital. You get arrested and sentenced to prison. In prison, you are made to suck dick, toss salad and take it in the ass. You eventually get AIDS and die.
