Pre-Contest Cycling (last week before show)
Brothers, I have a question for the seasoned competitors? I'm going to spend my time today setting up a 27 week cycle plan for a show I'm strongly considering entering July 14 of this year. Going to be dividing it into a 12 week pre-pre-contest cycle (for lack of a better description), and a 15 week pre-contest cycle. I'll be the first to own that it's been a while since I last competed so I'm just wondering how current competitors manage the last week prior to a show? What I'm specifically asking, is what day of the last week would you stop using injectables? Would you stop a couple days out (I'll be running short esters), the day prior, or do a last injection the morning of the show? Same question for orals, specifically Superdrol and Halo. I appreciate any answers. I want to get everything planned out on paper which will help with motivation as I'll have a concrete plan leading up to the show. Thanks Brothers

So me personally I don’t really change much the last week of the show supp wise. I’ll keep Mast & tren in for sure; usually get a pin in the morning before spray tan, then I’ll pin after the night show and throw test back in if I decide to cut it. If I’m feeling froggy I’ll drop test prop Tuesday or Wednesday of show week and I usually cut gh out around Wednesday for sure. As I stated before I will pin what I cut out after the night show, so if I cut test and gh out, I have those with me and will pin them after I get showered from finals. And I’ll have a extra gh pin to hit on Sunday morning just to get back into routine. For orals I run them all the way up to the show and try to time it so I can run them a week after the show to help utilize the post show rebound and make some great gains. Halo is g2g as I’ve used that several times and never had a issue, for me its mental so I want to take my orals the morning of just to stay in the routine if that makes sense. Never used superdrol but I imagine if you’re conditioning is on point then it will help fill you out. Probably compared to guys who get stage ready 2-3 weeks before the show then can run adrol 3-4 days before and fill out like crazy while still looking hard as granite. Hope that helps Weapon. If there’s anything else I can help you with or clarify let me know

Thank you kindly for your very detailed, and helpful, reply. Your reply confirms what I had been thinking with regards to the last week leading up to a show. As I said, I haven't competed in a while so I appreciate your post

No problem Weapon, glad I could be of help. I get the same way when it comes to prep. It’s very easy to over complicate things and try to do too much. Hence why I have a second eye to hear out my thoughts/approach and clarify if it’s sound thinking or over complicating things. If you need help with anything feel free to PM me

Thanks Prime. I'll probably be taking you up on your offer once I get to the 15 week pre-contest portion of my cycling.

I usually stop a few days before, I try to stick all my gear into my late and my ass that week , nothing worse then looking lumpy or a bad pin somewhere

Good luck with prep, WX. Wish I could help more, but I have never competed in BB'ing. You're in good hands with Prime, our resident Neo-Zane.
