I'll add for the new guys....be sure to get in to the muscle when using a 1/2" this can be achieved by hitting a lean muscle like delt, quad (if your legs are lean), calf, trap, bi, tri and upper chest. I use a 27g for these lean muscles or a 25g 5/8" is a good choice as well. Over the yrs scar tissue buildup can be an issue so hit a lean muscle with a 1/2" or 5/8" as often as possible. For me if I don't hit these lean muscles regularly they can hurt like a mf'r so I rotate on a schedule.

For VG and glute I use a 23g 1 1/4" and I'm g2g. For some reason I 25g 1 1/2" takes longer and I'll stsrt to shake so I go with 23g and it's perfect for me.
