I’ve reused barrels up to 3 times each over the last ten years...never a problem. However always a new needle. And if there is any backflow blood in the barrel...Toss it.

It’s like saying it’s 100% safe sometimes. Never an issue till it is—but when it becomes an issue, it’s a horrid shit show that can knock you out of the gym, work, life for a good while. Thankfully, I don’t know first hand, but the posts I’ve seen here and elsewhere tell enough of a story that’s it’s not worth messing with anything that increases the risk even the slightest.

Folks that are super anal about being overly sterile with pinning aren’t paranoid, they are smart. I’ve had all sorts of wounds from superficial to deep enough for stitches and staples from rusty barb wire, tree branches, sharp shard of rock, dirty knife blade—never worried that much about infections. But in this arena, we squirt these oil concoctions deep into large muscle bellies. Wound debreidment takes on a whole new level of pain, muscle damage and downtime.

Id personally end early if only 3-pins left and couldn’t get more barrels, but unless you live under a rock, should be able to get more quick enough to avoid the issue even if the local feed store can’t hook you up.

Not it worth the infection list, pins are cheap and I think there is a med supply sponsor on the board as well
