COC
so I just donated to the analytical lab testing, which EVERYONE should do btw, and wanted to run something by all members. since the testing is so new, I kinda feel like the Code of Conduct may be hurting some members. for instance I just saw a thread where someone got a TD right around the time P*****o got banned. the member expressed concern, understandably, as to the quality of the rest of that sponsors gear. in doing so, he's breaking the forum rules by discussing a sponsor no longer on board, which I completely understand. but seeing as to how quickly results come in from testing that causes sponsor bans, brothers may be left out in the cold waiting for an order from a sponsor who days before was supposedly a "stand up" lab. now I believe all members should donate to the testing for future peace of mind, but is there anything that can be done, within reason, to help brothers out in this situation or similarly when a sponsor "goes private" that won't break the COC? just throwing it out there. also a quick shout out to Kubes and DWBO for setting the testing up and dealing with my lack-of-bitcoin-knowledge ass!!

Sensible, thoughtful post. I wondered why, when a sponsor sells stuff to members and then they no longer sponsor, the member still has the gear and is not allowed to discuss it. Sure, if the sponsor advertised two years ago it’s less relevant but if I buy gear from a former board sponsor that has recently “gone private” (is the term I think you use here) then why not still be able to discuss? Not promote. Just discuss.
Not my board so I understand the reasoning somewhat, but it seems a bit misdirected.
I would have donated to the testing forum long ago but I seem to remember something about minimum post counts. It’s an awesome idea and I hope many members take advantage of it.

Yup I agree completely with you on this one. I was one of those people a few months ago when two sponsors abruptly left after having a 50 percent sale. I still have tons of the gear and its all questionable. But it also taught me a valuable lesson and it'll never happen again.

Obviously our COC is there for a reason. This place has been around for a long long time. There’s a reason why it’s the top forum out there... it’s the safest forum out there... there has been extensive measures taken to protect the users and sponsors, beyond what we even understand or know.. A lot of investment of time, money and resources goes into operating a board like this. This isn’t just some created in paint kind of website... that being said, rules are rules and they need to be adhered to in order to keep the order. They are in existence for a reason. Doesn’t matter if someone agrees with them or not. They were created for a reason when they were created... Follow the laws of the land we must, if we wish to dwell within the land.
This being said, it’s up to everyone of us to do our own homework. If you place an order with a sponsor, but you didn’t do your work and read through the reviews for the good, the bad and the ugly, this is on you... if you did do the work, then there wouldn’t even need to be the matter of posing the question to the board.... you’d be ordering already knowing the pro’s and cons... accepting the outcome of either or, prior to ordering...
If you are questionable about the product you have, send a sample off to be tested. For peace of mind if anything else.

If you did a half hour worth of research you could donate easily. Once set up I can make payments and move money in under 5 minutes. You could easily learn it if you just put a little effort into it. This board even has a section for it.

Yeah, takes longer for me I guess. I’ve done hours of research, including right here on the board. I’ve managed to get the apps and wallet in the past. I’m pretty good at putting effort into what I do. And i know you weren’t talking trash, I just have fun with it where I can. Lol.
I’ll give it another go and maybe have a little more success.
