I thought they had a "paypal type" set up as well. I knew they did btc as well.

Same reason why we don’t wire directly from our checking accounts or use CC.

I don’t think sponsors give an F about the anonymity of their customers when choosing not to use PayPal, it’s more the same reason you can no longer buy BTC with it and resellers on sites like paxful and LocalBitcoins make you jump through endless hurdles when buying BTC with PayPal. That reason is because of “chargebacks” where essentially the buyer can just claim they didn’t receive the product and PayPal with ALWAYS side with customer which means they refund buyer their money and the seller loses out on Money&product.
