I donated last week and was asked has my iron level always been high and does my Dr know?
      I said yes
They looked at my previous hemoglobin levels and said ive always been in the higher range.
Before taking my blood they asked me do i have anything else that i want to tell them lol
      I said nope!
They still took my donation lol.

high rbc and hct is natural on trt, normal and healthy consequence.

to watch with donating blood is following: iron and ferritin and platelets.

if iron is too high THEN donation is in order. but very often iron is too low so body compensates by increasing RBC width and count (co harvest any flowing iron) and by donating this issue is compounded cause more iron is lost and cycles of more hct and hb increase continues

platelets and iron/ferritin is key in deciding whether to donate on cycle or not. if iron is LOW then increasing iron consumption and absorbtion is solution, donating would make the problem twice as worse.
Wow great info there. I didnt even think about that so you really need to get bloods done FIRST then figure out if donating is needed or not. When I run 500 Test 800 EQ i donate atleast once during the cycle without doing blood work because i can feel my blood pressure is elevated. Im assuming that is still good to do.

I never mention TRT or needle usage because they normally will not accept it.

I would recommend always check bloods first and then donate, there are more reasons why red blood cels count can be higher and its not always bad. platelets, iron, ferritin, red cell distribution width etc all play a role in deciding if to donate or not and what is the bets way forward. donating is ONE of the ways
