Just make sure that you are aware then adding iron will likely make your blood counts go higher they will not lower them repeat will not lower them

I didn't read the tiger article but the beginning explains what I'm trying to pass along to you about the importance of ferritin

You certainly have some wiggle room if you do choose to supplement with iron but I would only do so if you're going to keep close track on your hemoglobin and hematocrit and bloodlet if it gets any higher. I certainly don't see in your case any harm I'll be mild iron supplementation protocol however I also don't think that a doctor would prescribe it in our case.I'm sure that it's very frustrating to hear complete opposing views but I would urge you to do a little bit of research even if it's just a quick Google search. You're probably going to have to dig a little because everything that you're going to see is pretty much going to tell you that iron studies are typically only performed if you are anemic so that you can determine if that is the cause of your anemia
i agree with bold. as expected serum iron is low due to hormone use and muscles needing building blocks.

i wouldnt donate blood, it will lower iron big time and cause issues. also for donation i would look at platelets and if these are normal i wouldnt donate. bit higher then normal hct and hb isnt an issue and its healthy and to be expected when on hormones.

Donation only if hct and HB are way out of control AND iron is high, which in this case its not. so low iron is causing the high rdw and low mchc and others.

now that we have bloodwork OP can decide for himself what he wants to do.

Please man go see a doctor. Your getting some dangerous advice. Iron has not a thing to do with if you need to donate and I'll bet a lot of money he won't want you on iron either but I don't think it would hurt you
