Truth Bombs - Why do you take steroids?
Im 32, 5’8 currently a pretty lean 73kg and am looking to bulk up past my heaviest of 75kg. Ive always been interested in seeing how far I can push my body.
Ive been hitting the weights since I was 15, I have had great personal results for my size. I know a lot about fitness and nutrition. Pretty much obsessed with all sorts of aggressive fitness that tackles my mental issues of temper, anxiety and depression.
I also train a lot in martial arts and have competed at amateur and semi pro level, mma, boxing, kick boxing and grappling. I do this for the kick of adrenaline it gives me and the fantastic community and diversity it provides.
The reason I got into steroids originally was for recovery from my martial arts sessions. (This was after i stopped competing). I would train mostly BJJ and train heavy weights sessions 3/4 times a week.
I love the fact my libido is through the roof, Im fucking like a pornstar, my Mrs loves big muscles so shes loving it, I appreciate my life more, Im more confident and Im happy with what I see in the mirror. This is what Steroids are giving me.
To be honest guys, muscles are probably only a small part of my reasoning for steroids. I dont go overboard with cycles, Im calculated with my approach and I always eat healthy.
Im on my 4th cycle in 3 years. currently Week 6 on 400mg Test E and 250mg Deca (even though I think Deca may be having a negative effect on libido and wood). Might have to lower Deca.
Im just beginning to think that this may be me forever, lifes better on gear, but being the paranoid health guy I am, I worry this is a stupid decision.
Im opening up to you guys, I want to hear your stories or reasoning behind your use. I want some truth. If you think Im a fuckwit for my reasoning. So be it.
Appreciate anyone taking the time to read or reply.
Cheers

I just started lifting/gear to be the exact opposite ibwas as a junkie. It makes me feel good about myself and the wife loves it too even tho she used to not even care about muscle etc. In short, insecurity is my reason.

As long as you’re feeling good brother. How do you feel off cycle? I know all my PCTs have been a bit rough. My emotional state is completely flat/numb, which becomes a bit of a problem.
Do feel you need to stay on the gear now to keep things positive?
My Mrs wouldn’t admit it but I realised she was hinting for me to get back on it at one point. Like she prefers me on it.

I have always been pretty small/skinny. I used over the counter supps and on and off w gym to small results (probably cause I had little knowledge of nutrition, exercising correctly, etc.) My first time cycling I was in jail and I loved the results, the body composition change, the energy and feel of life. And when I had conjugal with my then girlfriend I was killing it and she was absolutely sprung. I feel like a god and everything in the world is fine. Some people use other drugs to cope with life and I choose steroids as my drug if choice lol.

I started lifting again while I was in treatment for a year from 6yrs of opiate addiction that started when I was 16. Lifting for me is a outlet and coping mechanism and I've been sober for a little over 3yrs now. Started my first cycle because I didnt like what I seen in the mirror and brought me down. After my first cycle of test gained 10lbs smm and lost 6%bf. As it stands im starting to like how I look. Helps my mood and I believe will keep me from going back to my old shit.

TRT was my gateway. Pretty simple. Now it’s a hobby. Sounds F-in crazy to say that but it’s the truth.

Because I am vain and I love the gym atmosphere and the natural high from working out. If I wasn’t getting the natural high I would be getting my high somewhere else because I am a recovering drug addict and always will be. I have learned the only “cure” for me is the gym.

Pure vanity. I obsess over women and want to look good at 47.
With the exception of the last few years I’ve always been the high testosterone, aggressive, alpha male type. Love heavy lifting. Levels dropped off and I need to feel that again, especially now that I’m single again!
That and I’ve always had a Napoleon complex. Now I’m 5’8” and just south of 200lbs. Fairly lean but not single digit body fat.

I was a junkie as well, sober for 4 years. I was introduced to gear in my early 20’s through an ex fiancés father. Dude was JACKED. I’ve always associated with me being healthy and doing well and being on cycle all together. As long as my bloods come back fine I don’t see an issue, being on trt helps with me getting checked and keeping everything in line. I like the way I feel and how I handle situations and life in general on it. I work a solid program and don’t think gear is the answer but anything that helps me stay away from drugs(I did them all, iv heroin user and coke) I’ll run it!
