If u never have done bloodwork to see ur baseline then is just by experience and how you feel IMO.
I like it high around 500-600 personally.

No way to tell unless you have blood work. I can cruise on 150 to 200 mg week nd keep my levels within the low range but its fine for me. I'm 54 so age will play a role too.

I use RX test cyp at 200 mgs week and I stay between 450 and 600. Plenty for me now. On occasion I will add a hit of test phynl prop but not that often.

Ideal TRT dose keeps you at 600-700ng nadir, meaning at your lowest point before your next shot, so the first few days you'll likely be as high as 1000ng. This is to avoid potential health risks associated with TRT, such as high RBCs/hematocrit, or even high BP.
I did a lab test last month while on 200mg of Test cyp and my nadir total was 1084ng, with a 374 free test! The docs said that was wayyy too high for TRT, as evident by my elevated (out of range RBC and hematocrit). I had no idea I thought 200 was conservative!
