      Gym Motivation

Whats up brother been a minute! I need some advice for motivation. I'll be 40 this yr and been out the gym for about 6 months. I need to get back at it! I have plenty of gear, prework, orals, protein, etc. For the love of God I can't get motivated to actually start the process and bring my ass to the gym! Any tips or advice I'd really appreciate it! At work I wear many different hats and by the end of the day I'm wore out! Plus I have a 3 yr old and currently coaching my sons 10u baseball team practice twice a week! I have sleep apnea just recently started to use my machine again so that should help some. Hell when I get off work I just want to drink cold beer playing with my 3 yr old and spend what little time I have left with the wife. Help a brother out!

I will be 40 in July. Started this past summer. Best thing I could say would be start doing something. Find what can fit your schedule and get something in!

I went in and started walking to scope out the equipment and layout. I started 3 x week of just walking and watching Netflix. Then I started doing full bodies 1 exercise per major muscle group. After a month or so it became habit again and I’m back in full swing.

You just have to get in the door once! That can be all the difference!

If you want to hit the gym I'd recommend in your case early AM before work... Or, you could get an at home setup and instead of hammering a bunch of stuff, just pick a big effort lift or two to focus on per day that way you can still keep the time workingout down and still have leftover time!

      ^this

I miss training before the sun rises. It's very peaceful without any distractions and productive.
I work so early these days that afternoons are better unless I want to go to bed at 7pm

Home gym setups are also nice for a busy family man!

similar, when I realized how out of shape I had gotten I walked out to the road and painted markers every 1/4 mile for 2 1/2 miles.. I would walk as far as I could in the sun, no shirt, fat as hell, embarrassed and when I couldn’t go any further I had to turn around and make it back. A month later joined the gym and started lifting, the rest is history.

you have to make it through the first month, then it becomes a obsession.. when someone says “you look good, been hitting the gym”.. ooohhhhh, fuck yeah! Makes me train harder and eat smarter!!
