Bolasterone was first described in 1959. Sold under the brand name Myagen. Originally indicated for advanced breast cancer and also for its stimulators effect on red blood cells.
Bolasterone is an oral anabolic steroid structurally related to methyltestosterone. It differs only by the addition of a methyl group at c-7, which accounts for its chemical name 7,17 dimethyltestosterone. The added c-7 methyl group makes this anabolic far removed from the effects of methyltestosterone. Direct comparison are pointless when considering its effects. Bolasterone is a potent steroid with about twice the anabolic nature of methandrostenolone. This is in contrast to methyltestosterone which is considerably less potent then methandrostenolone. Despite being a derivative of testosterone,bolasterone is much more anabolic then androgenic. One fair comparison to methyltestosterone is in its estrogenic nature. This generally implies usage during a bulking phase of your cycle. It has a anabolic rating of 575 and 300 for androgenic.
Bolasterone will aromatize within the body and is generally considered highly estrogenic due to its conversion to 7,17 dimethyl estradiol. This gobbledygook means it's a highly biologically active form of estrogen. If ones not careful you'll have a shiney new pair of tits that rival your wife/girlfriend so tread carefully with this one. Standard AIs such as arimidex and nolvadex should be on hand or even begun a week before use of bolasteron if you are susceptible to estrogen related side effects. Your standard androgenic side effects are also known to ride the wave through your blood stream and deposit into the scalp causing hair loss and the skin causing acne. HDL and LDL will also negatively be effected. Given its methyl group liver toxicity is also a issue at various levels of severity depending on the individual of course. A mere 6 weeks of use at a dose of 2mg a day demonstrated a trend towards increases in serum alkaline phosphatase. This a marker used to indicate stress on the liver.
As far as dosage is concerned the majority of articles posted indicated a range of 25mg-100mg although I've read some studies where a dose of 2 to 5 mg was used with positive effects on nitrogen retention. A search for a average half life was mostly done in vain but it would appear to be about 6 to 8 hours. Either way, at least for myself anyway, spreading out the dose of my orals throughout the day have always produced the best results and least side effects. I will perhaps update this further from a personal and anecdotal perspective once I begin this compound and have a better idea of its effects. Its probably needless to say but when I do report back, realize this is my personal experience and whether its positive or negative, should not dissuade you or encourage you to try this compound for yourself.
