someone help me before i start ****ing shooting people!
i have 500ml milipore bottle top filter. I followed the directions and when i tried to pressurize the filter witha hand pump it wont hold pressure. If i squeeze the hand pump over and over like a million ****ing times it bairly gets to 5psi and imediately drops. I checked the hand pump and line its not that is 100% either me or the filter. wtf is going wrong!??

It's the bottle cap bro. Check the gasket make sure it's in and in the correct position and screw it down tight but don't break the filter! It has to be tight!

The bottles usually have a plastic ring on them. Male sure your bottles still have these on them.

This happened to me the first time I used bottle top filters. I was using a nalgene bottle top filter. Then i changed pumps and filters. Changed filter to whatman zap cap.

first make sure its not your hand pump, put your thumb over the end of hose and pump up and see if it holds pressure,if good then loke the other guys said chk to make sure the bottle top is sealed properly, then what happens alot is the receiver flask will get a crack in it and will be junk. ive found the best way to go is to get a glass or pyrex bottle and put the filter on top of that,it never cracks and use can use more pressure

It wasnt the hand pump sorry i forgot to update this. its was not tight enough 1 and 2 someone pionted out to me that the threads on the new filters dont align right on the necks of the bottles. sio i unscrewed it and slowly put it back on until it set right then i tighened the hell out of it and it was gtg. thanks for the help everyone

also helps if you wet the seal of the bottle with some oil
