Kim Jong-un rides unicorns, defeats United States military

Political statements take many forms. Sometimes, they’re a modest sit-in, a protest, or an op-ed agitating for change. And sometimes, they’re a farcical video game starring North Korea’s “glorious leader,” Kim Jong-un, singlehandedly taking down the United States with the help of unicorns and Dennis Rodman. Seriously.
“Glorious Leader”! is a kitschy satire starring an ‘80s action-hero version of Kim Jong-un fighting Reaper UAVs, an evil Statue of Liberty, and the nefarious foot soldiers of the “evil empire” (aka, us). And if you question the developer’s motives, well, check out their most recent “announcement”:
“The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea commands you to know that the capitalistic pigs at Moneyhorse LLC, are developing Glorious Leader! , an epic tale about the triumph of Kim Jong Un over the entire American army.”

And the best part? The developer, Moneyhorse LLC, gave the game a 16-bit facade, from back when towering adonises of muscle and patriotic glory – with hard-to-pronounce foreign names like “Schwarzenegger” – tore apart their enemies in Hollywood and the video game world.
And yes, this is all tongue-in-cheek, but the game’s creator, Jeff Miller, strikes such a perfect tone that you can imagine the Democratic People’s Republic conjuring this clever piece of propaganda satire.

The opening credits feature Kim Jong-un and Dennis Rodman brandishing weapons on a basketball court (presumably on their way to opening up a can of commie whoop-ass). Really, what more could you possibly want?
