Albuquerque couple accused of trafficking steroids

Police say a married couple on probation for trafficking steroids continued to sell the muscle-enhancer.
Someone at the post office’s inspection office called police after they found a box of the substance being shipped to a northeast Albuquerque address Monday.
Homeland Security Investigations agents did a “controlled delivery” of the package, which contained 200 milligrams of Stanozolol, a well-known steroid that is a controlled substance and illegal to sell without a license. It’s also illegal to use in professional sports.
Agents say 40-year-old Ruben Jaramillo was arrested when he picked it up.
When authorities searched his home, more than 100 vials of steroids were found in his freezer and in the bottom of his stove, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court Wednesday.
Ruben Jaramillo was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, child abuse and conspiracy. His wife Claudine Jaramillo was charged with possession of a controlled substance, child abuse and conspiracy. Both were booked into the county jail.
The criminal complaint didn’t explain why the couple was charged with child abuse.
