Anyone got experiences with bursitis and cortisone shots

Had ultrasound on shoulder and physision thinks I have bursitis and reccomends
that I get an "anti-inflammation shot which I believe is cortisone... Any experiences and tips would be awesome cheers brothers

My understanding is that you have limited options if it it bursitis. Rest and rehab, cortisone or surgery. Cortisone is effective but doesn't work in every case and the amount of time you get relief from it can vary, and as usual surgery would probably be a last resort. Cortisone for relief + rest/rehab if possible. 2c.

Hey mate. Mungus is dead on the money!! My wife has it in her right shoulder and has tried everything from cortisone to PRP treatment, physio, acupuncture, you name it!!
It's not so much a matter of how long after cortisone shot will I be back in the gym, because as Mungus said, this will just offer relief and not fix the problem.
Disciplined rehab is what will get you back in the gym.
It's a long road and I wish you the best of luck.

Don't let a doctor too many cortisone shots too close together either. It can get your endocrine system really screwed up.

As ridiculous as these things sound its worth a try compared to the alternative .
I had my Motrin increased from 3/day to 4/day for my shoulder .
Basically only time and rest works IMO . Unfortunately I can't do either .

Cheers DWBO could be an option I have tried a lot including Chinese medicine which includes dry smell tablets and pungent stick n leave patches haha so will go with jab today n hope I don't have to order patches haha yeah rest is not my friend and work = work or stay home mofos

I agree. Years ago I took a series of three cortisone shots. First one worked for three weeks, second for a week and third fora couple days. Rest it bro

Dam my shoulder stop spasming 30 seconds after shot . Lasted about 4 days and pain was back w/o spasm .
Don't know how delicate of species we are until injured .
Is there anything that lessons the Pain ? Heat , ice or massage .
I have been using Deca for some time trying to get therapeutic effect .

After massage it lessens for abit cheers for reminder might get the massage ball out :)

I've been on for a month and am starting to notice my joint pain subsiding. The doc has me set up to run 150mg ew for ten weeks and then come off for two weeks and then right back on. I also take Formutech Flexible and eat alot of salmon.
Lastly, and I don't know if this would work for your condition, you may talk to your doc about steroid gel injections. I get ortho vis in my knee every 18 months and it helps alot. Mine is more structural damage though so it may do nothing for you but it never hurts to ask I suppose

Cheers for reply mate good to hear your on the mend :) so went to c doc yesterday as there's no improvement and he has told me to take slow release painkillers and wait to c shoulder specialist for mri etc in a month (cause that's first available). He also said don't waste money seeing physio either... Soo just gotta continue rehab ex and wait Damn shit fuck!

I have had serve bursitis for last 7 months this whole year has been a constant battle for me cortisone did nothing had 2 shots and I had no change I even rested for 8 weeks and rest made it worse I had several ultrasounds and always sore inflamation and no tears it has been such a bad year it's still not 100% but I have stated benching and doing some shoulder exercise shoulder press is till of limits so painfull it just time very long and annoying time just got to push on but everyone different I have heard people have success with cortisone

Cheers for support mate. Hope you get sorted man thats a bloody long time to be out. I only been 9 weeks n i losing my shit! Been doing legs 3 times a week and cardio lika mofo so i can still eat and not kill some1 haha
Update: Finally seen specialist and he thinks slight tendonitis and some damage to ligaments connected to shoulder from bicep and chest muscles but of course wants MRI which i cant get till 20th then will decide what the next step is arrrgh NEEED TO LIFT!!!

Soo 4 months on and my shoulder still not %100 but much better so i can do limited exercises mostly dumbbells and slow controlled movements seem to do the trick to balance light weight but still retain most muscle. Did 25kg dumbell incline chest press other day for 8-10 reps 3sets and pulled up ok which is positive and started seeing physio again to get new and improve exercises. I have ordered some deca and test to start cycle very soon but also ordered some osmo patches that DWBO recomended giving a go just to try and be as close to 100% as possible b4 starting "rehab" cycle haha will update as changes if any occur haha any other reccomendations appreciated cheers brothers
