3 charged after steroid importation probe

November 13, 2014

KIRKLAND LAKE, Ont. - Three people face charges after police say mail screeners intercepted a shipment of anabolic steroids addressed to a northern Ontario home.

Police say their investigation began after the Canada Border Services Agency in September found a package of suspected anabolic steroids allegedly being imported through a Vancouver mail centre to a home in Swastika, in Kirkland Lake.

They say they executed a "controlled delivery" of the package and general warrant at the home last month and that anabolic steroids, ******** and marijuana were seized.

Swastika resident Julie Cole, 38, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, while fellow resident Sandy Tremblay, 29, faces one count of the same charge.

They're both due in court Nov. 27.

Forty-year-old Donald Cole, of St. Catharines, faces one count of importation of anabolic steroids and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.
