I thought I was all set after primary doctor did 3 blood tests and all were under 205. Their low range on scale was 254-1050. Sent to an Endo and they want another test, MRI of pituitary, and did a testicular exam today WTF? No script and I was getting all the questions about prior anabolic use, and statements of how much muscle I carried for testosterone levels that were undetectable on one test (just got off pretty heavy cycle). Any advice or do I need a new doc? Only thing is my insurance is going to only cover from this Endo. Everything else will be out of pocket for test, visit, and scripts.

This is pretty normal. They are trying to get to the root cause of your low testosterone rather than just treating

Lol, that's what wife said but I know the cause.......called Dianabol, Test, Tren, etc.......was sure hoping my levels were low enough but never thought undetectable first week off gear after only two month blast. Never got tested over the years but I see you can function with low test and even maintain an erection at levels below 10<. As soon as I got that result I knew they would dig. Unfortunately, honesty with the Doc is not an option for me.

An MRI of the pituitary. I have very low hgh levels and I researched the possible cause and the one that I found was simply a tumor in the anterior pit. An MRI might show up a tumor. From my research, such tumors are rarely operated on and besides who would allow such an operation> I sure wouldnt. I can recall reading where one can take a certain compound and in a large percentage of men the tumor disappears. So, if a tumor shows up, dont have an anxiety attack over it. I just might have a tumor myself. Plus, if my memory serves me, a pituitary tumor is not one of the bad boys. If the MRI shows a tumor, put out a question in General Discussion asking how can I cure this myself and someone likely will know the compound I can not recall at this time. I know I may appear to be pessimistic in the diagnosis, but just preparing you for the worst case scenario. Once I have the bucks I plan on getting an MRI as well, and if positive for a tumor, I will locate that compound and use it on myself.

Low testosterone can be caused by many different conditions or scenarios. Some categories of the other potential causes are:

Rare genetic deficiencies/problems

Head Trauma
Environmental Toxins (specifically dibromodichloropropane)

Tumor of the Hypothalamus/Pituitary gland

Idiopathic (no cause identified)

As mentioned above, head trauma can play a role in low testosterone, by disrupting blood flow to the hypothalamus/pituitary gland, or disturbing the production of hormones that stimulate, the production of testosterone itself. Therefore, you may be able to get away with telling the doc that you were knocked unconscious while playing sports a few years ago and you have not felt the same since.

This is a little off topic but I second the head trauma. I was in a bad wreck and I was all messed up hormone wise. Not 100% sure if that was the cause of very low test numbers but after going on TRT I feel great. This all started in my mid 30s
