Alright dudes I need some serious help. I've been brewing with syringe filters for far too long now and it's time for a change.. I'm brewing around from 40-400 vials at a time and wanted to know what route you think I should go. I was looking at the hand pump on med labs that's $50 and there bottle top filters.. or should I just spend the money for the electric pump? Also curious about spillage... thanks dudes

I would start with a hand pump. It won't be bad when switching to the topside media bottle filters. You'll have more diverse, personal and variable abilities regarding the amount vacuum pressure you apply, too. The electric pump would be more of a luxury and overkill with the numbers you are talking.

I have a cheap plastic one and a upgraded metal one. Both work great. Just don't go overboard like wook does every Tuesday night with his Austin P. pump.

Things will flow more smoothly at the 500ml standard then what you've been contending with.

It helps to filter while the brew is still a little warm. It is thinner at that point.

I went from syringe filters brewing just for personal use, then upgraded to the hand pump when I stated brewing more for a few friends. It lasted a while but the handle did break. I am now brewing quite a bit and opted for the cheap vacuum pump from med labs and I love it. So much quicker and I can be doing other things while its filtering. You'll need a small air compressor to go with it but so worth it in my opinion.

I been blowing through hand held pumps and sort of killing my day I was considering going with Autofill filter with an electric pump but im never worked with a pressure regulator.

I'm gonna try this hand pump from medical labs for awhile see how it goes. I may end up getting a electric pump after a while

dont waste your money on a dam pump bro, you can invest that money in much better ways to improving your home brew sterility techniques or practices should I call it... Make your self a simple water aspirator for a sink in your place that holds the most water pressure... for about $15 tops you got your self just about 10-12mbar which is more then enough for filtration
