Saskatoon police bust drug lab after man discovered with head injury

Saskatoon police have busted a drug lab after receiving reports of a man suffering from a life-threatening head injury.
Officers were called to a residence in the 600 block of Main Street East to assist the landlord of a rental property shortly before 3 p.m. on Friday.
There they discovered a man who was found unconscious suffering from a head injury.
While on scene at the incident, police also discovered a secret drug lab, which say contained $300,000 in cash, 90,000 pills and other chemicals used to manufacture fraudulent pharmaceuticals, according to a press release.
Police say that some of the items seized appear to be pharmaceutical grade male and female hormone medication and several varieties of steroids.
They also indicate that whoever is responsible may have been mixing substances and selling them as genuine pharmaceutical products. According to a police media release, the packaging appears to be a legitimate.
As a result of the first bust, a second search warrant was executed at a business in the 100 block of Primrose Drive. Police say the investigation is on going, and have not yet identified all of the items found in the residence.
The police are issuing a warning that drugs or pills obtained other than through a physician or legitimate pharmacy may not be safe.
The man found at the scene of the first drug bust was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in serious but stable condition. Police do not believe foul play was a factor in his injuries but are continuing investigation.
