Just got back from the dentist and they want me to have my wisdom teeth extracted. I'm 24 years old and they are partially grown in already. How bad is it from those of you who have gone through it? How long is your mouth soar? I'm starting a cycle soon I don't want my diet to be effected. And I'm a recovered heroin addict, so I would really like not to use painkillers. Thanks

Just had it done last summer with the gas. It wasn't bad if you have a good oral surgeon I suppose. Would have gone back to work that day but couldn't talk. You need liquid shit to eat that first day soft stuff the next few. Then it's up to you and how you're feeling. Honestly it's not anything to be overly concerned about.

I would suggest an oral surgeon if your insurance pays for it.

I had 3 of mine pulled at a dental school by students and the fourth was pulled by a regular Dr when I was in prison. As you can imagine none of those would be considered good Dr's and it didn't hurt at all. You just have to make sure they give you enough navacaine. I didn't have to use anything stronger than Tylenol to manage the pain. The first day or two you're a little sore then it's more of a tight feeling in your jaw for another few days. You'll be back to eating normally in a few days!

i had the same thing! all were impacted but i was eating real food the same day and didn't take any meds. just make sure you follow doctors instructions you don't want those holes in your mouth that food gets trapped in and starts to rot ewwwey lol
