Hey Brothers. Ive read a lot of diferent ways to clean and sterilize vials without autoclave.

Pressure cook. Alcohol bath. Alcohol bath then heat in oven. Just heat in oven.

Id like to ask you boys how you prep your vials? How long have you been doing it your way without any problems?

I've always dipped mine in acetone and let them dry. I know most boil first

You can use a pressure cooker which works best if you are going to be sterilizing capped vials. The pressure in the cooker normalizes the internal pressures in the vials so you will not need to vent them. Just be sure to let it cool slowly. If you remove the pressure too quickly the vials could pop.

You can also use a dry air oven. The standard setting for a hot air oven is at least two hours at 160 °C.

Here is a link with common sterilization procedures and temperature/times. Sterilization (microbiology) - Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterilization_(microbiology))

There are many types of chemical sterilization as the poster above mentioned. Just be sure that there will not be chemical residue once the solvent has evaporated. Also once the chemical sterilizer is evaporated bacteria will be able to inhabit the surfaces.

Autoclaves are not that expensive I always thought the same thing... Amazon gasman to choose from in 100$ range... Just make sure to read the internal size on machine because sterilizing a dental tool or small stuff will not allow it vials to fit inside... I'm a moron and I'm speaking out of experience... They are worth the 100$ cause some fool. Will store his gear in his trunk in August and when he gets a absest peace of mind is licensed knowing u did ur part to keep every single thing clean... Just my 2cents
