After months of buildup and trash-talking and bold predictions, Jason "Mayhem" Miller simply proved no match at all for a dominant Michael Bisping.

The fighters met Saturday in a season-ending fight between coaches of "The Ultimate Fighter 14," and Bisping reigned supreme in a one-sided whitewash that ended via third-round TKO.

The scheduled five-rounder headlined the main card of The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale, which aired on Spike TV following prelims on Facebook. The event took place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Earlier in the night, Team Miller bantamweight John Dodson and Team Bisping featherweight Diego Brandao claimed "TUF 14" crowns, but the focus was on the coach-vs.-coach headliner, which got plenty hype during the reality show's 10-week run on Spike TV.

Bisping, himself a "TUF 3" show champion, was never in trouble. He shrugged off some early takedown attempts and then easily escaped Miller's first forced trip to the mat. He fought his way back to his feet and landed the better strikes in the final minute of the round to bloody Miller's nose.

Bipsing continued the better striking in the second, and he chipped away as Miller left obvious openings. Miller slowed the attack with a takedown attempt against the cage, but on the reset, the fighters clashed heads, and a timeout was called. After the restart, Miller landed a nice combo but failed badly on a takedown. Bisping toyed with him for a bit before allowing him up and popping the fading and gasping fighter with more punches and knees. The strikes landed flush, yet Miller inexplicably waved him and dropped his hands, even as his legs wobbled from the unopposed blows.

Bisping unloaded a vicious combo to start what would be the final round, and after Miller faltered to the mat, he simply waited for him to get back up. By then, Miller was clearly gassed with labored breathing and his hands by his sides. Only Bisping's complaint of an eyepoke slowed the assault, but on the restart, Miller failed on a takedown and was battered with punches, elbows, knees to the ribs, and hammerfists. The blows kept mounting, and the ref finally was forced to halt the fight at the 3:34 mark of the round.

Bisping, whom the crowd clearly was rooting against, for the most part tried to squash his beef with Miller.

"He's a tough guy," he said. "To finish him, I knew I needed a big work output. ... He's tough."

A dejected Miller offered no excuses.

"I trained really hard for this fight," he said. "I'm sorry guys I got tired. I can't make any excuses about it. For all the boos Michael Bisping gets, as a fighter, he deserves your cheers."

Bisping (22-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC), who admitted he may not be ready for a title shot until he can finish opponents more quickly, nonetheless has won four straight and deserves some title consideration. Miller (23-8 MMA, 0-2 UFC), a recent Strikeforce fighter competing the UFC for the first time in more than six years, falls to 2-3 in his past five fights.
