Hey brothers. So I have sub-deltoid tendonitis in my right shoulder. I have been using my right arm heavily at work and no health coverage (self-employed).
I read that corticosteriod injections can help. This shit is robbing of sleep and making my lower forearm, ring finger and pinky finger tingle.
Anyone know which injection would be best and if it is available from any sponsor here? Anyone suffered this and have advice on treating without medication? Been researching alot but finding pretty vague info.
Thanks in advance,
IRISH

The few things I know that helps is massaging the bicep tendon near your shoulder . It crosses under the front deltoid head like a crazy interstate highway. Only do light dumbbell presses . Work rear delts by reverse flys .
Heat and ice back and forth .
Researching back and shoulder injuries they both seem to share 1 thing . Sleep depravity .
You only heal when you sleep .
The Chinese with there blood letting was to promote circulation . That's reason I say hot/cold therapy.
Only way to get better is getting back to the basics .
Good luck

DWBOExactly. The only thing that heals tendonitis is rest and circulation (although a corticosteroid helps the process).

The main problem with a corticosteroid is it's been shown to actually degrade the tendon if taken for a prolonged period.

If you come to me, I would probably hit you with a cortisone injection then tell you to do exactly what DWTBO said. Just be sure it is actually tendonitis and not a tear.

Rotator cuff injuries take a while to heal. Rest and shockwave therapy should help.

I am recovering from rotator cuff as I write this. My right shoulder has been bothering me for a year now. I went to my family doctor and he said I had a separated shoulder and to take it easy. I went back 3 months later and he said it was my bicep muscle where it connects to my shoulder. Finally I went to a shoulder specialist and he gave me an injection of cortisone and said don't baby it. It stop hurting for 3 days the was back to same issue. I went back and he gave me another injection and scheduled a MRI. I went to get the results and he said I had a severely torn rotator cuff tendon on the top of my shoulder and it needed to be re-attached. 3 weeks later I spent 2.5 hours in surgery, they had to trim off 6mm of shredded tendon to get to a good place and drilled a hole in my shoulder and sutured it thru the hole. Also they found a bad bone spur they removed and found a bad tear in the back of my shoulder they repaired. This is by far the worst surgery And most painful to date. I will be off work for 12 weeks. I wish I did I not wait so long to go see a specialist and it may not have gotten that bad. I'm on the uphill battle now and getting ready for therapy. My doctor told me rotator cuffs will not heal by them selfs. Get a good Dr and a MRI don't wait stay on top of it.

I was suffering from tendontitis, which lead to a massive rotator tear. My advice is let that shit heal. Rest is the only thing that will actually repair it.. I’ve had them take a year to heal, but it was still better than a close to 2 year recovery, post surgery. I would avoid strength training for awhile, and do some band work, and light mobility work.

Be careful with that shit bro! As tough as we all think we are, one wrong move can fuck you up for a long time! Hope it heals quick!

A bunch of guys are seeing really good results with stem-cell therapy, and/or combined with PRP.. it’s expensive, but quick recovery. Might be worth looking at.

Damn!! Brother I feel your pain!! I have bone spurs in both shoulders and arthritic shoulder joints and had a clavicle decompression in my right shoulder. No rotator cuff tears though! One thing I can say is with time and working your shoulders lightly you can continue working out. I thought with my pain as bad as it had gotten I was going to have to give up working out. And I did for awhile. Big mistake!!! When you suffer from joint pain or torn muscles the worse thing is to completely give up weight training. Best advice!! Rest!! The gym isn't going anywhere! Do your physical therapy!!! When I got back in the gym for the first time I was only able to press the Olympic bar. Now I'm back at it strong with no issues pressing a plate and a quarter. Some days it feels a little sore cause of the weather. So I keep it high reps. But other then that I'm good. So hang in there bro. It's not the end.
