All the bitcoin info on here I’ve seen advocates for using coinbase to trade in bitcoin, which has a great interface and can intuitively be used; but, if you don’t want to pay for that convenience you can open a Bitcoin Exchange | Ethereum Exchange | Litecoin Exchange | GDAX (https://www.gdax.com) account and avoid all fees associated with coinbase. If your concerned with reliability? GDAX is owned and operated by coinbase and you can even transfer any funds you have in coinbase directly into GDAX.

There is a link below that will explain it in more detail if needed.

Don't use Coinbase, use GDAX instead to ELIMINATE FEES! The difference between Coinbase & GDAX - YouTube (https://youtu.be/BRvN-01B2E0)

It’s free. Once there’re in your account you can send them to any btc address you want. There may be a small tx fee but it’s not going to be 15+ dollars.
