This is beast. You don’t worry about salmonella from uncooked eggs?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 in 20,000 Eggs have salmonella. Plus with better pasteurization techniques salmonella can kiss my ass.

You need to cook the egg to make the protein bio available. Raw eggs only provide half the protein that cooked eggs do if that.

I use pasteurized egg whites in the carton. $9 for a case of 6 16oz cartons at Costco. Can’t buy whole eggs cheaper. Pasteurization activates the protein and zero chance of Salmonella.

In the big scheme of things I need to see more replicated experiments to believe that. For instance it makes no sense to me that its 50%. If I eat 5 eggs my body will get absorb 15g of protein but if I just eat 10 now all of a sudden it can process 30g at the exact same time.

Still sometimes don't have time to cook and a fast healthy natural shake is better than pocessed powders.

I love it.... You can tweak it with cocoa, cinnamon other stuff that doesn't add calories or add a scoop of sugar free ice cream and its still pretty healthy.

Only time I eat pure whey is after my workout.

Yes, it's true that only 1 in 20,000 eggs actually contain salmonella and most that get sick from it usually obtain it through poultry meats as opposed to eggs. However, I prefer the pasteurized egg whites in the carton, they're so easy to guzzle down in the morning or after the gym. Also blends well with shakes. The supplement store down the street from me actually sells them flavored as well, really good, however a bit more $$.

They are def expensive though from what I remember.

And I believe the salmonella bacteria is actually on the shell. So you would need to drop a piece of cracked shell in the egg to contaminate the egg.

Cooking eggs doesn’t make them bio available, which you know. It does however increase protein assimilation in the digestive track. This is one of several studies supporting that. How Primodaddy came up with 50% is just a scientific wild ass guess from what I can tell. Amount and fate of egg protein escaping assimilation in the small intestine of humans. - PubMed - NCBI (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/10564098/?i=3&from=/9772141/related)

Also a few other things
1. This study was done in 1999, lots of things have changed since then. Id like to see a more recent study. I didn't do a search but I know you said there were others.
2. These participants weren't on Anabolic steroids. I imagine protein absorption would be increased some one of us.
3. Lastly and most importantly, it states the only eggs were eaten. Eggs have no fiber. Fiber slows down the absorption and pass through time of everything in GI Tract. Adding fiber and simply other macros will delay gastric emptying. Nutrients passing into the small intestine slower should increase this as well.

Not the best study but I'm not discounting the theory. It just doesn't make study. Generally speaking heating, freezing or even blending certain things denatures enzymes and makes them less absorbable. I just don't know why eggs are the opposite.

I don't believe that eggs can really conduct you with salmonella. Actually, you can get it everywhere, but not in egg. As for the shake, one of my favorite is
Peanut Butter and Jelly Shake (https://www.tipweightlossdiet.com/best-breakfast-shakes-foods-and-smoothies-for-easy-and-quick-weight-loss/): this drink will offer you a lot of proteins from soy milk, peanut butter and the protein powder. The recipe provides your body with 228 calories and only 7.5g of fat. It also gives you 16g of proteins and 5g of fibers. Here is what you need: one cup of mixed berries, one or two big spoons of peanut butter, 1/4th
a cup of protein powder, two big spoons of oat and one cup of milk.
