hey brothers, wondering if any of you have had a amputation. I got hurt overseas and have had 4 ankle reconstructive surgeries with no real relief, stability increase whatso ever. I have screws in my ankle and now need another surgey to get rid of dagger like bone spur on ankle joint, i can only have 2 corticosteroid injections because if i have more my joint will completely deteriorate. so my wife and i are looking at BKA as an option. Hope someone has some input. Mainly i want it because i want to be able to run again and be active, plus limping in pain for 2yrs now is bullshit. at this rate i wont be able to hike, hunt or weight bare in my 40s. kinda fucking lame if you ask me.

thanks guys

Get an opinion from doctors first as BKA is certainly NOT reversible. If the reconstruction was not properly done that should been checked out and perhaps corrective surgery.

But if you feel comfortable going the BKA route, then go for it.

it was done great actually. Just was so fucked up hasn't really made a difference. Thanks for the wishes ya'll. I anyone is actually an amputate bump for experience. Done alot of research and it looks like BKA might be the best for lasting physical enjoyment. plus if i wait a few more years until im older then theres more possibility of complications. Just wanted to talk this out, i aint gots no friends and my dog doesnt talk haha. thanks guys
