View Full Version : Need input or ideas! Die tr, bulking, stalled gains

45yrs old
228 lbs
7 to 8% bf
Cycle 650mg test,450mg deca, 700 Eq, 12.5eod aromasin and i threw dbol in 2 weeks ago at 20mg daily to help bump it a little with trying to reduce water weight.....

I feel like gains have stalled, on coming off injury and l lost a little mass for bf, but my body seems to like where at...
My caloric resting intake via vo2 machine is 2736c
I weigjt Lift daily sometimes twice daily
Do hiit training 4 to 6 times a week
Run very little now, maybe 5 to 8 miles a week (cut this WAY back)
Cut spin class out for the most part
Food consumption 3500 to 4500 daily higher protein and lately carbs then fat....

I have been lifting heavy and lately doing to failure to break it up....

I have gained 4lbs in lean mass in 4 weeks but think it should be much higher and I get to 234 then a day or so later I'm back down...I fluctuate 6 to 8 lbs easily day to day...

I am primarily working on strength and maintaining some speed for a event coming up but I would adjust a little based on advice.....

Goal is 245lbs to 250lbs then cut to a solid 235 at 5% or close too... I just want to be bigger staying cut is relatively easy I walk around at low body fat always have...yes metabolism plays against me...

I eat clean no junk food, my visceral fat is 3/4 lb so I'm clean inside....

You guys have always had some good ideas here and there and I have changed stuff based on reading and found my goals being reached by reading other posts on here...

Figured it was time to ask for some input and help...

Stop doing so much "hiit training" and lift like a beast

Wanna add muscle tissue lift heavy ass weight start with overloading your muscle with a clear example

18 working out sets

3 warm ups per set( increasing weight after each set)
2 working sets ( Max effort)

Max effort means 8-10 forced reps, you have to struggle during those 8-10 reps

Food wise

Stop counting numbers and start pushing down food!

-6 oz of protein per meal

-1.5 cup of rice / 8 oz of potato per meal / Ezekiel bread/ 100grms cream of rice / 100 gems rice Krispies

-And depending on the protein source some fast 4oz avocado or 1 tbsp of mac but oil

Do this 6 times a day for the next year and results will be amazing and do it for the next 10 years and you will be a solid beast


Wanna add lean tissue work hard, push hard and work on your metabolism if you dominated these 3 things your body will change like crazy, day by day.

I aced my cardio ALOT .. I try and keep track of what I eat to check carbs vs fat vs protein and I have been in surplus but apparently i am burning more daily aside of workouts....I will up what I'm eating some more and see....if I dint add up what I eat I will be under guaranteed...I use it to see where I'm coming in at. I'll be great at cutting lol...I'm not small but I want to be bigger....

I lift and hit ton and usually 2 times a day one heavy as hell and the other 70 - 80% and to failure I'm not shy to nose bleeds while lifting....

So per your advice and I will take it to the table, I will start powering more....if I want to keep hiit training I'll need to eat even more ......I need to keep cardio....but I will just overpower the hell out of it with food....

What is everyone eating...bulking clean...
Some ideas and examples of what your eating...

Lifting I figured maybe I'm lifting too much...I dont take a day off...

First, you have a great build man. I've followed some of your other posts and you kill it. Personally I think that you're lifting to much if you're hitting it daily, and sometimes twice a day. I've seen a lot of guys go stagnant from lifting to often and even gear couldn't get them over the hump. Try backing off some and see how you react. Also, the weight fluctuation could easily be water. You're on deca and dbol and both make everyone I've ever known that take them hold a ton of water. Why the dbol? Just lookin for something mid cycle to help? A little break may be all you need man.

Damn. You have a very good build already. I hope I look that good when I am 45.

But like everyone else said. Perhaps cut down a bit on the amount of training. Your body might just be fatigued, maybe even run a nice deload.

Appreciate it leftkz and madhungarian,i always feel like I look small or need more size...
I have this idea of how big my pecs need to look and arms shoulders etc...I see some pics of myself and I'm like damn...pancake chest flat and no size....lmao...

I'd like to gain 15lbs of muscle but I have a feeling I need 20+ at 6'3 to look how I want too...

If I can figure out how to break my plateau and then go again then I can replicate it...

So yeah I think backing off gear for a while may be a good idea, take a break coast heavy and then do a blood swap for gear lol....

Yeah just a strength push to see if I can get more out of me...yes I'm always achy lately and the dbol did give me a extra push 2 weeks in...I started out heavier and had more aches and pains afterwards...

I kept the dbol at 20mg daily an hour or so before workout...and on ai to try and reduce bloat...

I feel ya. We are always our biggest critics. There's always that thirst and hunger to be better, faster, stronger. That's just how we're built I think.

With Madhungarian here, followed several of your threads Bullcrew over the last year, performance and look have always been impressive. It seems you are now taking quite a bit of gear for little return builtwise. Don't want to talk out of my ass as there are lots of more knowledgeable posters on here, but daily weightlifting is rarely advised when one is intend on putting on mass.

100% agree....lol wife says I'm worse than a chick lol...I get mad as hell after a really good workout, I feel like I could have left more on the table...the harder I grind the madder I get the more motivated to go further than I did before.

It seems you are now taking quite a bit of gear for little return builtwise. Don't want to talk out of my ass as there are lots of more knowledgeable posters on here, but daily weightlifting is rarely advised when one is intend on putting on mass.

That's why I decided to gear up...i wanted to get bigger granted I have put on some lean mass but man I think you guys might be right....i see in pics from a few months ago some definite shoulder, pec, improvement and my quads are getting some pretty decent shape and definition.....

What I'm taking my bloods are solid and up there so it's good stuff...that's why I'm asking opinions....I have read and done mostly what I gathered and asked before really hitting it hard and followed up with bloods for verification...

Lol this is why I'm asking....now I'm kind of needing input....I thought I had most of it nailed down...
