I had a complete distal bicep rupture about 8 months ago. Surgery and physical therapy were required. I have been back at the gym for a couple months now and mostly all excersises are going well with relatively minor pain with the exception of a few. Any type of reverse curl with palms down, skull crushers, close grip bench is extremely painful. I obviously don’t have full range of motion in my wrist because when I try these exercises my elbow will flare out to compensate for my lack of wrist function. I was wondering if anyone else with this injury has had this problem and any rememdies for it. I was thinking on trying maybe bpc157 and tb500, but after 8 months I would think the tendon would be fully healed. Any help is much appreciated.

I had the surgery 18 months ago. I had the endo-button method and based on my discussions with my surgeon it takes six months for the bone to fully heal (regrow around where the tendon is reattached). Fortunately, I did not have any problems post surgery.

Any post surgery nerve complications? Is your pain in the wrist? Did you discuss your range of motion issue with your ortho?

I haven’t been back to my ortho since he released my about 3 months ago. I guess I should go back. The pain i am having is in my elbow down to my forearm. I tore mine deadlifting. Unfortunately my insurance isn’t the best so I was not able to choose my own surgeon.

Pain from elbow to forearm...it might be tennis elbow. I’ve had it in the arm that I did not have surgery on.

Do a youtube search. ATHLEAN-X has several videos on elbow pain and exercises to help it.

I’ve never had this injury but as a powerlifter it’s rather common for it to happen on deadlifts.

From my research I’ve heard great things about bpc157 and tb500. I’d do those if I had the money.

As far as recovery standpoint my priority would be going to a physical therapist as well as doing everything that you can in your own.

The way powerlifters attack it is to gain range of motion ASAP.
Once full range of motion/ function is restored frequent high rep low weight workouts get it back up to speed.

Keep training what you can and stay positive. Brotha. At least you blew out a small muscle and nothing super drastic like low back or shoulder stuff. That takes you out of damn near everything

Yep I’m trying out some bpc 157 and tb500 now. I was attempting a 675lb deadlift and the arm I used the under grip on ruptured. I’m doing what I can and redoing some of the range of motion excercises I did In physical therapy shortly after surgery.

Got some BCP157 and TB500 on the way to try to treat a micro tear in distal bicep. Hoping for some relief without surgery.

I had distal bicep tendon rupture back in January and just in the last month I’ve started having elbow and forearm pain, it started after a friend (That has had the surgery also)told me to start doing a lot of reverse curls with the easy curl bar, thinking about BPC 157
