Hi guys,

I'm almost 50 years old and a competitive masters cyclist. I am thinking about trying PEDs to even the playing field a little. I am not athletically gifted and contend with arthritic knees due to old sports injuries.

Also, I don't want to put on too much weight. A few extra lean Kilos/pounds would be fine but not too much. Also, i am looking for a steady increase in performance and strength rather than anything too dramatic or noticeable (aka the wife doesn't need to know).

My plan was this:

wk 1-10: 200-250mg of Test E or C
wk 13-16: PCT - SERMs and an AI.

My current best power for 20 minutes is 270 watts. My goal is 300 watts towards the end of the cycle. I am thinking that some extra Test will improve recovery and generate a few extra red blood cells for more endurance.

My diet i good, high complex carbs, lower fat, medium protein. Lots of fruit and veg. I try to do about 200km a week on the bike as well as weights twice a week. Some weeks I can only fit in about 100km but that will be mostly high intensity intervals.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Do you have any current bloodwork? At your age you may very well have low enough Testosterone that you would be a candidate for legitimate HRT. 200mg/wk Test C is therapeutic level. They will often prescribe you a little Arimidex (AI) but additional bloodwork will show whether it is necessary.

The point is, you can accomplish your goals and stay legal, which means you shouldn’t have wife issues, etc. I’m not sure exactly what you will run into if you are concerned about potentially testing positive for Testosterone in some kind of race environment or if you can get an exemption for therapeutic HRT, but the principles involved are fairly simple and we can help you work it out with more information.

You don’t have to do anything different to prevent packing on large amounts of muscle. The amount of aerobic training you are doing automatically signals your body to stay as lean as possible.

For what you want to do, legal therapeutic HRT is ideal. I would explore that avenue thoroughly before crossing over to the dark side. :)

I have my cyclist/triathletes on Equipoise, lowish dose, 300mg/week. I like the drug for this because it doesn’t really “bulk”, especially at this dose, gives great strength and the side effect that bodybuilders dislike is actually a benefit for endurance athletes, increased RBC and hemoglobin.
I think this plus 200mg of testosterone cypionate and NO AIs (unless you test actual high estrogen) is a nice, safe, conservative enhancement.

test 250 a week and eq 200-250 per week. It won't put on size, but the eq will give you endurance like you've never had before and recovery is a breeze. You can always adjust test and eq to how your body is reacting to it. 400 is normal every week on it.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Judge, blood work is coming but I’m pretty sure my T levels are normal therefore making it difficult to stay legal if you know what I mean.

Meat, I didn’t think of EQ, I read that it’s pretty mild sides wise and increase RBC with strength and recovery gains is almost the holy grail...so second cycle will be the go.

“Legal”?
If you are tested, I sure as hell wouldn’t use Eq. That stuff stays in your system longer than Jon Jones’ brand of oral Turinabol. ...facepalm.
I didn’t get from your post you will be tested.

Steroids are only “cheating” for those who get tested. Lol

No one is tested mate, I've never heard of it nor seen it happen. We're that far down the sports food chain no-one would care.
