Two arrested in Hatton drug bust
HATTON — A resident’s complaint in Hatton resulted in two arrests and led to the seizure of steroids, *********** pills and marijuana, Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell said.
Arrested were Derrek Wendell Martin, 27, and Olivia Morgan Terry, 22, both of 3051 Lawrence County 150, Town Creek. Martin is charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
Terry is charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Martin fled the residence on foot and was apprehended a short distance away, authorities said.
A young child at the residence was removed by the Department of Human Resources.
Martin was in Lawrence County Jail on Thursday with no bond set because of a community corrections violation. Martin has a prior felony conviction, Mitchell said.
Terry was out of jail Thursday on $13,500 bond.
