Fall/winter is just around the corner and with that comes the flu season....

When I have a cold/head cold I continue to train. I'm mindful about wiping benches down for the next guy and not spreading germs around. Lifting takes me away from feeling like shit and leaves me with a high. You can bet if I'm able to work, I'm sure as hell able to lift :)

With the flu on the other hand I'm staying home, for my own benefit and others.

what's everyone else's take on this predicament?

I agree with you 100%. I think continuing to train will help you sweat the cold out.

I know a few people that use airbourne and like it.
I'll load up on Vit C, and Alka-Seltzer for a preworkout lol...always clears me up for a few hours.

I hit the gym too. I spoke to my Dr. about it once and he said since I was already in good shape that its a good idea to keep working out. The increased blood flow will actually help.

I agree on the flu though. When its something like that I take a few days and rest.

Ive got a wicked annoying cold right now, and Im heading to the gym. If nothing else the training and sauna afterwards can wear me out enough to sleep. Last night sucked.

I've always been able to work through a cold and like BigBoss said, I just try to sweat it out.

I don't catch the flu often, but when it hits, I throw the flag and just try to heal up by resting.

A cold is no big deal to me I still hit the gym..... I rarely get sick anyway.

Now on the other hand when I get a bad cough I can't do anything. I'll try to lift weights and get about two reps before I'm coughing to death and puking or almost puking. I'll take a cold or anything over a bad cough any day.

Im toast right now. Feeling rotten. Had a good workout, but the sauna was a no-go after 5mins. I came home, showered and slept for a couple hours. Ima eat again, then go back to bed.

Ill still train, take elderberry, astragulus to promote sweatting, bilberry, a good 20billion probiotic, and vit c 3-6000mg a day. That supp stack is killer for any kindnif sickness. Probiotics ill take year round to keep my immune system running 100% and the bil and astragalus for bloodflow and sweatting with my preworkout

^^^Good to know brother. Thanks for the info I will look into those more. I like the more herbal approach to this than using meds.
