Has anyone tried the 40/40/20 diet? Just looking for a good diet to get more cut up and maintain the muscle I have

If your looking to drop some BF I'd consider going lower on the carbs, and be sure the fats are coming from sources like avacado, almonds, olive/coconut oils. Perhaps carb cycling would be a good option, this coupled with a good cardio regiment will produce some good results. Buy be prepared for a drop in your energy level.
When I'm maintaining I'm using percentages closer to 40-40-20 split, and bulking my carbs will be higher then my protein.

There are some books about dieting in the library as well.

Ultimate Diet 2.0 is very good to learn about losing weight.
