I enjoy having debate but there seems to be the vast majority of people who can't put it to the side and get really upset about it. I have plenty of friends with differing views, that is healthy. When you surround yourself with people who all think the same as you, that's when it gets dangerous IMO.

Im not for any sort of gun control but that doesnt mean that i cant have a friend who doesnt see it the same way.

We've been conditioned to condemn people who dont share our same beliefs. I blame social media and 24/7 news.

I have some friends who turned have become card carrying members of the communist party of America. We were talking At a superbowl party. Im obviously far left, they're left of Bernie Sanders. I told them that I didnt care that weve been friends since preschool, that I'd shoot them without hesitation if they acted on all of their plans and ideas.... got kinda awkward after that haha

I tend to steer clear of religious and political talk. These two subjects have caused more violence than anything else in the world. Most people don't have an open mind when it comes to these things. If we are all really honest with ourselves, i bet none of us have an open mind. You're not going to convince me your view is correct and I'm not going to convince you i am correct. I've never seen a civil debate with these subjects, so i don't bother

I rarely put up with anyones shit about anything, lol! But it sounds like you're looking for advice about a particular situation.... can you elaborate? Is it a work thing? Family thing?

Family thing?I made this post because of the increased polarization in the country. Most of the folks here in the forum seem like logical individuals. Most people I run into in suburban America are nice and harmless, but are "stuck in the matrix" if you will. They're either blissfully unaware of what's happening around them or just dont care. Then theres the Antifa types and other various commies that know exactly what they're doing. Luckily I dont see many of them where I live, but I see their antics on news, social media etc and they are almost never met with any resistance. These people cant be swayed with healthy conversation. Just wondering if the brothers here share my belief that sometimes violence is the only solution to commie problems lol.

You cannot have a different view from some people without them labeling you a racist/socialist/anti-american/anti-semite, or whatever either side is using at the time to strike at people with different opinions.

I usually get shit from both sides because I don't believe either party is worth a shot anymore.
