Never had an issue with test e but just had some test c crash. Had it at 2% BA and 20% BB with GSO. After I heat it back up what's the chance it might hold this time? Would it be better to filter it again?

Sometimes it will but, 90% of the time, after cooling back to room temp(a couple hours) it goes back. From my experience, I just mark it up to failure. [emoji20] But with failure comes success.

What's the solution? Add more BB?

Just wanted to give an update for those who care. Heated it up to about 140F and got it to bind again. Then stuck in the fridge and then freezer and got it down to 25F. So far it's been holding so I think all is good. Fingers crossed lol

Aaaaaand I spoke too soon, started to crash after some time. Decided to make the solution 22% BB. Going to see if this will work.

I would wait until more brewers can chime in before preceding.

Were you trying to hold 250mg/mL with the test C? You may need to bump the BB up a bit, maybe 24% or so to get 250 to hold. 200mg/mL would hold perfectly fine with 2/20.

Yep tried to get 250mg to hold with 2/20 in GSO. Just bumped it up to 22 % BB. Will see if it holds. Thanks for the input everyone.

Why are you cooling it? I think that might be your problem.

Don’t freeze it that’s why it’s crashing. It’s best to keep it room temp or even warm

I cooled it to see if it would crash or not. Most of the time my stuff doesnt crash in low temps. Bumped it to 22% BB and it held.

Test c has been known to crash in cold weather during transit. I’m guessing the freezer would do the same

I haven't got 250 to work with 20% BB. I had the same shit happen the first time I brewed it. Coincidentally enough, that was the last time I brewed it. To fix, get syringe filters and filter in enough BB to bring it up to 22-25%. It will dilute it a small amount but it will hold and you can salvage it. Don't put it in the fridge, no point in that.

I added BB to make it 22% and ran the whole thing through a bottle top filter. It worked. Lesson learned with test c.

Not worth even messing with Test C IMO. I don't like it any better than E and it's just a pain in the dick.

Why are you putting in freezer bro of course it will crash it needs to be room temp or above atleast over 3-5 degrees
