saw palmetto for prostate?

hey guys i think i need to work on my prostate, been urinating super frequently and have trouble getting it all out when i go? I've heard about saw palmetto, wondering what those of you that use it run it at per day? any suggestion on brand? any info you have will help! thanks guys

well apparently both help with symptoms but not with the enlarged prostate... might give it a try for now

im 47 years old and im on trt and i think i have an enlarge prostate because i cant get it all out either i need to get tested but im on trt and i know that enlarges the prostate , i dont want to stop trt , i think ill try saw palmeto with beta-sitosterol thanks for the info

I had issues one cycle, saw palmetto did nothing. Time off of aas fixed it.

Nope, just time off and it went away completely.

Doc gave me flomax but it messed w my orgasms so I didn't use it.

I developed an enlarged prostate at the end of my last cycle. I started using saw palmetto and beta sistosterol when my cycle ended. I cannot say that the two had anything to do with my symptoms subsiding but it has taken almost 4 months til I'm finally at a point where I feel normal again. I think the time off of ass was what really helped. Going to do a short test p and mast p cycle next to test the waters.

I use to have that same problem and saw palmetto helped me and I haven't quit taking it since and that's been years ago...

What dosage are u trying? I'm already prescribed finasteride for my hair lol it's supposed to b 1mg/day for hair but the 5mg generics are MUCH cheaper so he told me to get a pill splitter and do 2.5mg/day (for hair) so I wonder

Spring Valley Standardized Extract Saw Palmetto 160 mg extract/softgel— 2 per day Saw Palmetto Extract (Serenoa repens) (berry) (standardized for 85-95% fatty acids and biologically active sterols, 136-152 mg) 160 mg; Other Ingredients: Pure olive oil, gelatin, glycerin

I take two to three per day. No matter which brand you choose the standardized at a minimum 80-90% fatty acids is what you want.

Well as for Finasteride, it was originally a prostate drug to begin with, I can say I've been on that for a number of years for my hair loss, and in my yearly prostate exams my numbers were always low, even when I was on cycle.

I take the liquid saw palmetto caps and they do work for me...I remember it taking quite a while to work but I have been taking them everyday for about a year and a half and have had virtually no issues since.

My Dr. prescribed the 5mg tabs, which I quarter myself with the pill splitter, giving the dose just a little over 1mg per day.

I know this is a month old, but what the hell. Go get checked out. PSA, and biopsy if the PSA is high enough. I was doing exactly what you are, trying to find an alternative and taking all sorts of shit. Well, it turned out to be prostate cancer. Caught it early enough that no surgery was needed, they used radiation. Killed the cancer, left the nerves so except for a short period during radiation, no urinary issues or long term ED. Hell I even am starting to ejaculate again after 18 months. The real upshot is don't mess around, get checked out. A really good mild med for enlarged prostate is called Terazosin. It can lower your BP, so watch that. It may mess up your erections at first, but then that goes away and actually improves them.

Just a thought.
