My orthopedic guy says for me to take 1 week off all chest/shouler press movements, then the next two, replace shoulder/chest movements with rotator cuff movements...blah...I guess its needed.

any one ever ran into this? Its like when I release off the dip bar, a sharp shooting pain hits the inside of my shoulders. after 5 or 6 sets of presses, becomes inflammed.

this is not a question of elbow placement or form, that is not the problem...I think my delts are outgrowing my cuff capabilities.

I think it's sounds just like a case of over use, I get the same thing bro, I usually cut back on inflammatory foods and pop a naproxen and give it like 3-4 days and I'm golden. I'm gonna do a wrote up soon about inflammatory foods for everyone soon.

Naproxen and a little rest always does me good for the 'cuffs.

when you get back to the gym and start doing press movements..after your workout to help with inflammation try taking a ice cold bath it helps reduce the blood flow and help the tendons and great for soreness, try just 7 min the first time and see how you feel later on.

Don't forget to use a soft or hard ice pack. Helps bring me relief almost immediately.

A good thing is to give the shoulders a break for a bit to give the RC time to heal.

My right shoulder has been shooting pain for about a couple of weeks now. This has happened to me before. My Doc told me that the RC has tiny muscle fibers that are getting pinched and in flammed as well. Of course he said take Ibuprofen and do some RC exercises. That worked, but also I put a Tens Unit on my shoulder that is used mostly on your back to speed up the healing. Maybe you fellas can remind of some RC exercises to do..??

Depending on muscle mass around the shoulder, DMSO will help. Used it in college for the "bad shoulder" prior to surgical repair. Too much mass now to be more than a general AI...

UPDATE: INFLAMMATION GONE...for now.....doubled up on arm days and only done iso movements for chest....every three days done ext and int RC exercises....good to go so far!

TIP: DO NOT DO RC EXERCISES BEFORE PRESS MOVEMENTS IF YOU HAVE PROBS WITH RC...THIS WILL ONLY PRE FATIGUE IT BEFORE PRESSING..CAUSING MORE PAIN.

thanks brothers

prescription anti-inflammatory called meloxicam has worked wonders for me. dealing with shoulder issues - one rotator cup - other shoulder hung up tendon for years. Believe it or not power moevements make me feel great. Even the bench. I can't work out in front or overhead without severe pain. I did take a 2 yr break and heal for a bit but it comes back if you don't get surgery.
