Capt Kirk said sometime ago that "He approach the squat rack/monolift the same way, same manner every single time....That's part of preparation, concentration and mentality approach...

Ive been told by others i shouldn't train heavy all the time bla bla bla......i used to train heavy but now i do more reps by people 20 years younger than me............i compete with myself......their are only a few of us at the gym i workout it that have "it" that do or die mentality that the weight will crush me before i give up...... and because of "it" I am 51 years old and my squat, dead, and bench still keeps going up....we were doing heavy squats and the guy whos turn it was started to whine about knee pain.......Ive had 8 broken ribs a cracked pelvis,2 compressed disks in my neck,a skull fracture,my right knee has been scoped,my left knee needs to be,8 screws and a plate in my left leg, I hurt every were now shut the F**K UP and lift......Its going to hurt...life is unfair learn to deal with it...its a mentality and the vid captures it

Lots of excellent points in your post above Bruski ! I'm curious because I admire your attitude where do u get your drive to keep grinding away ? Your so right when u mention only competing with yourself ! I'm not quite as old as u but not that far off and one thing age and experience have taught me was that I owe it to myself to train as hard as I can and it has nothing to do with anyone else !
Your list of injuries make me feel like a real puss because my hips and lower back have issues and have caused me to neglect my lower body lately and it drives me mad. Sometimes for me it's so hard to tell the difference between pain that I just have to deal with suck it up train harder and the pain that will put me down for good .
Much respect bro!!

I'm currently powerlifting and have fallen in love with it. Plan on doing it for 4 to 6 weeks then back to bodybuilding.

I focused on power lifting for a few years and it certainly gave me my base in size and strength . I've always been a big fan of the sport.

That's nuts!! Was at a powerlifting meet years ago where I was able to shake hands with Captain Kirk Kowalski (spelling) and at the same meet witnessed James (Hollywood) Henderson bench press 700 lbs raw. He made it look easy !!

One thing that's really amazing about powerlifting is the span of ages and types involved......you can go to a meet and see teenagers lifting and older folks, male and female, easily into their 70s....and damn good at it too!
