Yankees VS Oakland A's and a ball bounced into a uniform

Ichiro’s comebacker bounces into Jarrod Parker’s jersey, results in infield single

By Mark Townsend | Big League Stew – 16 hours ago

There's no doubt Ichiro Suzuki has proven to be a master at finding ways to reach base over the course his professional baseball career, but the trick he pulled off in the Yankees 2-1 extra-inning win over the Oakland A's on Friday night was a new one even for him.

It happened he led off the bottom of the third inning in a scoreless and hitless game to that point. On the very first pitch from Jarrod Parker, Ichiro hit a one-hop comebacker that the A's starter not only failed to glove cleanly, but also somehow lost down the front of his button up jersey.

Yes, that actually happened. The ball really ended inside Parker's shirt, and after a frantic attempt to retrieve it proved fruitless, Ichiro stood at first base with the game's first hit, and his tenth hit in his last 13 at bats.

Hey, they say Ichiro can hit as many home runs as he wants to in batting practice. Who's to say he can't pull off a trick shot like this when he's locked in? Anybody?

All kidding (I think) aside, this isn't the first time we've seen the old basehit in the uniform trick. Back on June 23, 2010, Alex Rios of the Chicago White Sox ripped a single into Brook Conrad's shirt when he was playing third base for the Atlanta Braves.

But regardless of when or how many times we've seen it, I don't think it will ever get old or less entertaining, because it's one of those things you'll only see in the beautiful game of baseball.

HAHAHA That's awesome. First time I've ever seen it.
