Has anyone went to custom and put in their own fee instead of paying a huge fee?
For instance I want to send $60 and it wants to charge me over $20 to send in an hour. That’s nuts!!!

You can put whatever you want, it's just going to take longer. Hours or maybe even days. It's because of the volume due to all the crypto currency madness at the moment. That is the one of the biggest problems with BTC as opposed to some other cryptos out there.

Blockchain isn't an exchange. Their price is determined by the prices at other exchanges. It's really just a best guess based on current available info. The price of any crypto is going to vary from exchange to exchange based on the volume/demand at that current exchange at the moment.

Coinbase is a little nuts at the moment because it's where most of the USA crypto newbs flock to. Since there's more people wanting to buy it there than at most places, and they are willing to pay whatever the going rate is, the price is typically higher there than some other exchanges.

i have some money in Bitcoin but its impossible to use at this point due to the ridiculous fees that you have to pay to move it. tried to buy something on the 10th of Dec and its still in limbo... it had about a $2 fee attached to it. Sent another one yesterday with a $6 fee attached to it and it never confirmed either. If they don't fix this issue, the value will surely crash. A currency that can't be used as a currency to buy things in a timely manner is sure to fail. Its not stocks we are buying here guys, its currency and its getting all fucked up.
