Interested in switching to DC in a few months after my wedding. Currently on cycle and train HIT style, but adding ntf workouts to maximize the cycle. Gonna have to read up some more because just skimming already see there’s stuff I didn’t understand- like only doing 1 of the 3 exercises per workout and rotating it. I’d thought it was all 3 exercises per workout, so lower volume than I’d thought though I am used to low volume in HIT training style. Any other tips anyone?

It will be a great article for anyone looking for a new routine to start.

De my first DC workout yesterday. Was my first workout in almost 3 weeks after being away for my honeymoon. Definitely feel it today.

DC training is great methodology of training. I think all newbies should start off training this way. (Not implying you are )

I shouldve tried it earlier. I can’t handle high volume, just get beat up too easily and can’t recover well enough. I’ve done a lot of HIT, this seems like something a bit different but also similar. I also like the flexibility built into it to pick your exercises. Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

I think DC is difficult to do to the correct intensity without a spotter on some exercises.

So is HIT, but that’s where smith machines and machines in general come into play. I’ve always trained alone, it takes a while to figure out the better exercises/machines to use.

Anyone do a variation to this?
On the first workout of Chest Shoulders Tris Back Width and Back Thickness, for the back, I do a Pulldown variation, add Row but also do a deadlift variation.
That workout is pretty tough, but I push through it.
It's just that day is alot of compound movements.
The Biceps and Leg day is less taxing, compared to that first one.
Wondering if someone had a different way they run it.
I mean you could use various Rest Pauses and stretching, the principles, with any program... I like to keep it simple though.
I will also after 4 months, switch to a month of pump work, only last set to failure, no rest Pause, higher volume... to freshen up a bit. Then back to DC.
During DC, I warm up more efficiently to work toward my working weight, and put my energy into that. So a different WARMUP to working weight protocol as opposed to the higher volume, pump work, going for the burn mostly.
During DC, less reps in the warmup sets, less energy expenditure, so I can put more effort into last set of Rest Pause.
Since I don't have a partner. On some exercises I have to stop one rep from absolute failure, so I do 4 rest Pause, the first failure is just to get to failure, then 3 rest pause, and I count those as my RP reps. Then I do one dropset, and then to failure.
