Need advise on choosing a trainer

Hey guys, do any of you use online trainers?

I have used 1 before in the past.

Looking if any of you can suggest a trainer, I am looking into Neil hill right now.

what do you guys look for in a trainer

do any of you let your trainers know what you do aas wise? ( I am quiet about that in real life so Id like to keep it to myself) but it it aids in the process I would reconsider depending on the person

Ill take all suggestions and advice! thanks guys!

I use the bros here at BOP!I believe that all the information you need to train well is right here. There is a lot of wisdom and experience here.I have built a great workout program by studying and doing what I am taught here, and you dont have to worry about aas.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I don't trust trainers. I'm sure there are good ones out there, maybe especially at the more advanced, contest prep type of level. In general, though, they don't have enough financial motivation for you to succeed....as long as you don't reach your goals, they can keep you as a client. I don't like that model as a business relationship. Seems like it makes sense if you have a finite goal, and there's an understanding that they're employed to get you to that goal, and that's the end of it, like getting ready for a particular contest or something. If it's set up as an ongoing relationship though, I don't think they have enough motivation to keep you improving since reaching your goal means they lose a job!

I'm a big advocate of doing it yourself and experimenting.

I have been doing this on my own for quite a while I just want to move to the next level, I am currently using a IFBB pro but his set up is really no different than anything i have ever done. He also does contest prep diets

I have been on these forums for 10+ years daily(except weekends, lol) I still feel if i had someone kickn me in the ass and eliminating some of the guess work it would help me move faster.

On a side note yes i agree, i dont want to pay a grand for a trainer and see nothing.

Thanks guys! love all the advice so far

Guys here are your best bet for online support and advise. As far as a trainer he or she has to look the part and essentially workout the same way I do in achieving a goal. No crosss fit, no rock climber, no runner but a bb, then ask if you can be given a free session with them at a medium intensity. This allows you to gauge them on knowledge and how much effort they are going to put into your goal. Talking about aas, NO NO NO AND NOOOO. Unless you know them like that then never man. It won't aid them in helping you, folks here can aid you better and safely.

The hardest part or at least it would be for me. Is the weeks right before a show how to dial all that in, I know I would need help with that. Everything else is pretty much straight forward, put on size, then cut.
