      Training Crossroads

I'm currently on 1 g of both test and deca and seeing decent growth, however the strength returns are not there. As such, there's potential I am missing out on. I've been lifting for 5 years, and had gained 90lbs as a natural; I have some understanding of what my body responds to.

Currently, I am training and being coached by a competitor aiming for a national win. His methods are very much centered around high volume; generally, 20 plus reps (4xf) with 8-10 movements per workout.

As stated, the growth in lbs seems to be there, but the build and strength seem to be lacking. Should I reevaluate my training needs?

I am a firm believer in volume as well, however I also switch it up week to week. One week I will go heavy with no reps higher than 10 and that includes 3 forced reps. The next week I will go high volume. Changing up stimulates different muscle fibers, continues growth and increases strength. I am not saying your trainer does not know what he is doing, but you said it best "I have some understanding of what my body responds to". Everyone is different, but that is the beauty of bodybuilding and figuring out how to master your body.

Good for you that you are re-evaluating. What week are you in your cycle?

I agree with Tekadori and have you been changing up your food? Changing my food every 4-6 weeks helps me push through sticking points just like changing training

Tekadori, I am on week 9 of 16. Gained about 30lbs so far.

Kubes, I tell you brother, I just reevaluated my diet as well. Had some diet planning and body fat estimation done. It was agreed I needed to see more growth since I have a large frame to fill, so we upped my carbs to 810, pushed protein to 450 and shrank fats to 110. That's about 6,000 kcal daily. I like the plan so far.

At week 9 your strength should really be kicking in. And 30lbs is a ton for only 9 weeks brother. You mentioned the "build" is not there which is probably because of a large amount of water retention. Are you taking any AI? What is your height and weight?

I like the calorie count but that will be dependent upon your starting weight and your desired weight. How many calories were you consuming prior to the change in increase? Curious is to how far off are you from 6k calories a day. There are a lot of factors involved so I am brain storming here for you.

Glad you asked, we are certainly here to help.

I'm taking an AI only very moderately. It is my understanding Nandrolone and dianabol positively interact with estrogen and can diminish strength and size returns. .25mg eod of Adex. No symptoms of gyno but I am retaining at least 15lbs of water. I am 6'7 currently at 255lbs. Started at 225lbs @ 12%. I was hitting about 5k kcal beforehand, and I am hitting my kcal and macros as I have the diet all planned out and I prepare the food ahead of time very simple diet. 4 cups of pasta daily, 20 oz of lean beef/turkey, 30 oz of juice, etc. Not entirely intricate.

Last night I switched out for what I know has worked for me, carrying over certain nuances I've learned in the past 6 weeks. Felt a great pump and felt strong. There has definitely been carry over from the previous training schedule, but the compounds I'm on certainly don't lend themselves to the high volume training and seem to respond better to high intensity mid range volume.

1 grams of each compound is a lot my man! I find that sometimes when I am at a sticking point I may just be over loaded and time to clean out! I also find that blasting HCG will also push me through my stuck points if the issue isn't over saturation. Just my 2 cents bud. Please keep us posted!

Just remember gyno is not the only thing to be concerned with high estrogen. Running your Adex at .25 mg eod is still leaving you with very high estrogen

What sounds more reasonable? I don't feel lethargic or irritable. Sex drive is through the roof. Possibly .5mg eod? Should I supplement adex enough until I see a drop in the water weight?

On that dose I would think .5 mg eod would help reduce that water weight significantly
